What is your role at Clarilis and how long have you worked here?

I am Junior Project Manager at Clarilis and I started in May 2021.

In my role I am responsible for helping to scope projects and planning projects to fit around everyone’s workload. I work with the legal and automation teams to ensure projects stay on deadline and within budget. Part of my role involves coordinating across teams to make sure that any changes from our clients are implemented swiftly and accurately. I also spend time analysing past project data to help to improve future outcomes. I started at Clarilis during a lockdown period when most of the team were working from home, but I found everyone very welcoming through Teams calls and felt like I knew them by the time we got into the office.

What is your favourite part of the job?

My favourite part about my role is that I’m always busy and dealing with a different challenge every day. I enjoy learning new skills and tackling new challenges and I rarely have two days the same. I can be helping sales with a proposal estimate, doing a project de-brief to understand how the project went or helping a new user to access their automated suites. I like solving these new challenges with the help of colleagues that are always friendly and supportive.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

When I was around five, I wanted to be a bus driver because I liked talking to everyone on the bus.  Now that I am older I still consider myself to be a people person but I like having a more varied day and I don’t want to drive all day!

What have you always wanted to try but haven’t?

I’ve always wanted to try roller skating!  It looks like a fun way to get around and might help me to navigate the streets of Leamington.  I want to take it up as a hobby in the summer once I’ve bought the skates and elbow pads!

If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you need to have with you?

  1. Tea - it’s my favourite drink and I wouldn’t be able to survive without it!
  2. Binoculars - I’d use them to watch the birds and to search for passing ships.
  3. Surfboard - I’ve never tried surfing but I think it would be a fun hobby to take up if I lived near the sea.
